I cannot remember what time the gambling

house was opened & what time shut. At the beginning of 1895

the gambling gang I was connected with were not gambling in

Graham Street,Hinglung Street, Queen's Road Central and

Stanley Street. My masters were gambling in Stanley Street.

The partnerships are not all the same, some were connected

with Wa Lane, Gambling was going on at the same time in Wa

Lane and in Stanley Street.

It was at the beginning of last year that

Kwai Tau Hoì went to Sam Cha for money for you. I cannot re-

member in what month it was. It was after the 2nd, month. It

may be some months after. It was between the third & fourth

moon. I know that A Hoi was banished formerly. He returned at

the beginning of last year. I remember that it was last year

I cannot remember the month distinctly. It was last year I

saw his face. I was arrested by the Captain Supt. of Police

at No.3, East Street. I was there when he came. I then went to

get a key. It was Lam Chi that arrested me. La Chi took me

straight to you.

You have never spoken to me about gambling

or gambling money.

The money that I paid must have been paid to

you or I could not have kept the house open so long. I have

never seen money paid to you personally. About $1,000 would

pass in the gambling house in a day. I don't know how much
